It's important to have young people influencing decision making on mental health because others may not understand these issues as they are not facing them. We as young people are able to explain the issues and are able to make sure that decision-makers understand. It is also important because it is young people who will see the change happen to them and they are the ones facing these issues. Getting young people involved can ensure the change occurs.
MH:2K is an important project because it allows young people to make a change with the struggle of mental health. By being a Citizen Researcher on the project I have gained more confidence in myself. I have been able to hear other people's views and experiences, allowing me to understand how they feel.
