Kathy became a trustee of Involve in 2019. She is the founder of KJA, one of Australia’s largest specialist stakeholder engagement and community consultation companies.
Kathy currently provides high-level advice around engagement strategies on complex, politically sensitive projects, particularly in the areas of transport, infrastructure and human services. Her key clients at KJA include major infrastructure and property development projects in metropolitan Sydney and Melbourne. She also specialises in facilitating new governance structures.
Since selling KJA to ERM in 2018, Kathy has established a new company in the UK, Engage Communicate Facilitate (ECF), which provides community-focused engagement advice to the property, development and local government sectors. With her UK partner, ECF is specialising in bringing the Australian approach to engagement to the UK and in taking lessons learned in the property sector particularly around Build to Rent and other initiatives, to Australia.
In all, Kathy has over 30 years’ experience devising communications strategies for government, private sector and not for profit agencies. At the heart of her work is her capacity to successfully manage her clients’ reputations and build solid and lasting relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This approach has allowed her to build a successful company of over 70 engagement professionals in Australia and is guiding her work in the UK.
