Claire became a trustee of Involve in 2019. Until April 2020 she was Executive Director of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, leading JRF’s strategy to inspire action and change to solve UK poverty.
In April 2020 she was appointed Director of Policy to the Leader of the Opposition, Keir Starmer.
Prior to joining JRF she worked in public affairs and communications in the public and voluntary sectors, and for the UK’s largest trade union. In May 2018 she authored ‘The New Working Class: how to win hearts, mind and votes,’ in which she proposed a public attitudes-led policy-making model to increase public involvement in policy development.
